Greetings there

Greetings there,
Tuesday 10/12/2010 was a good day. I was able to work from home as I do most Tuesdays. Whitney was home with me so it was fun. We cleaned, cooked Tsuven, and edited photos of Pj and Lori’s family. Then we headed out to Costco for a little shopping. Following Costco we studied networking for Munk’s certification.

We went to bed pretty early, but the best part was having the electric blanket we took from mom’s bed. It warmed us up. It especially helped in the morning. Mornings are the worst because it is so, so cold. I wish I could sleep in everyday, but that isn’t my reality. Mine consists of working, cleaning, and cooking, but it is good. I love my doodles and hun.

Work today has been pretty well paced, but it is slowing down, which it usually seems to do in the afternoon. I would love to go home and relax, but not really an option at this point. Today Munk brought BBQ pork and chicken for lunch. It was really good. For some reason I have a slight headache.

After work, Whit and I will go to the temple, which will be nice. It has been too long since I last participated. It is nice having Whit and Kade with us. I have been able to talk to mom a few times since she made it to the Philippines via messenger and email. She seems to be doing well. I can’t wait till they have everything set up and I can call directly. It would be so nice to be there with them and work in the embassy.

I am still waiting to hear back on how I did with the FSOT. I somewhat would rather never hearing how I did because I don’t feel I did very well, but who knows. Try, try, and try again. That is all I can do, so it is all I do. I haven’t met with my study group since, but I am sure they are keeping busy.

Well, I better be off.
More to come –

Doodle Summer

I wanted to go back to Washington state really bad and finally we planned a 10 day long vacation to the Northwest. It was a road trip with our hybrid, we put on about 3500 miles on it. We visited many people and saw many things. We drove from salt lake to Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. We had interesting experience in Portland after following dragon diner on our gps which turned out to be exotic dancing place. We visited the Heaps and spent a night there in their RV and visited Rochester ward and met many people.

We headed to Tacoma and spent a night at Fordhams and met Pryors. The next morning we went to see Tacoma zoo and was glad that we were there early before annoying tourists came there. Also glass museum was entertaining.

We drove to all the way around Olympic peninsula and visited towns such as Forks and Port Angeles. Then we took Seattle ferry from Bremerton to Seattle and visited the Keplers and ate at Mongolian food place.

We drove from Seattle to Maple valley to see sister Despain and her husband in Enumclaw. From there we drove to Vancouver. The city was fun we saw winter Olympic torch etc. We enjoyed our northwest trip and after our Mexico trip we have few more trips to do in the US including Upstate New York(Church sites and Niagara fall) Washington DC, Florida and Caribbean.

some random things we did this summer

Helped volunteering for General Conference in April and Oct.
Young Men calling and now Primary.
I got C+ rating on SF4.

Fading Fall

Greetings from the Enkhbolds in SLC!
Life is going splendid as we have added one to the family. His name is Dex, yes like the phone book or serial killer, Dexter. He is a little chubby Siamese, piercing blue eyes and all. The reason being for this addition is that I have started working at Western Governors University. It is a pretty nice job, but I hope to move into a better, high paying position fairly soon. Now Munkhtur and I work in the same building, I on the 8th floor and him on the 4th. We drive to work together and eat lunch together in the stair well. So what can I say, life is good.

Lately Munkhtur and I have conquered Uncharted 2, a ps3 game. We continue to play online and lose much sleep, but we survive. I am still awaiting my FSOT results. I am some what anxious, but know that what is meant to happen will be.

Funny Things:
-My Mongolian vocabulary

-Munkhtur slapping a stranger on the game Little Big Planet and the stranger smiling afterwords

-Munkhtur continuously sniffing the kitty bums

-Munkhtur being so consumed in fixing his linux laptop that he has made it a female and repeats “I can’t give up on her.”

-Munkhtur dancing in the kitchen in front of Katelyn and Karla

-Koob freaking out when we take his poopies from the litter box

Anyways….there are plenty more…but that is good for now.

Love, the Enkhbolds!

Dex

– Dex -
He is the second addition to our growing family. This cuddly cute doodle is not to be underestimated. He’s a sneak, but his piercing blue eyes suck you in every time. When Dex was a kitten we thought he couldn’t speak because he never “meowed”. All he was capable of was opening his mouth and little breathe noises coming out. Since then he has become quite vocal. He still doesn’t “meow”, but he says “Ehh”. Whenever we talk to him, he replies “ehh”. He is definitely a back-talker, but so cute when he does it.

This doodle loves the comfort of the home. Although he was raised outdoors in Grace, Idaho, he freaks out when we talk him out now.

We sometimes refer to Dex as our Purr Pal because all you have to do is look at this guy and he starts purring as loud as he can. So sweet.

He loves to eat. He is a hearty doodle that has an impenetrable defense system, gassing and shedding.

All I can say is, “What a doodle, a Dexy doodle!”

Koob

Koob is from Logan. Everyone thought he was a girl first and we named him Elektra. His made his first professional career debut in Lion King movie. We will upload it shortly. She had purple eyes first. Later I discovered it was a boy and named him after Kublai Khan. His name is short for Koob or Kub, has many other alternative names. He is called Koobicana, Doodle or Kooby. Kooby loves outdoor. He is very skinny and has long legs and tail; well has long of everything.
He makes bird sound sometimes when he is frustrated or confused. He whines also to get out occasionaly. He has escaped couple of times from our old and new apartments. The first time with Dex through our open bedroom window, the second time on his own jumped out of the balcony. But he has not attempted to jump again. Maybe it was a high jump or he just gave up escaping. Koob is very picky about what he eats, he digs yogurt and milk. He did not like litter quiter kit first, but now he seems to have it mastered. Koob chases Jackson dog, he can scratch you whenever he wants. He also can open doors, who knows how; we locked him few times
in the bathroom and he has escaped it by openning the door. Kooby likes to play hide and seek, chasing games. When he is sitting he likes to pose like Sphinx statue. Koob jumps up on a fridge straight up. So if pressure is given he can prolly do 7 feet jump.

Family Weekend

This weekend we took the boys with us to Idaho.

The drive was excruciating. We got stuck in traffic and both boys were panting and antsy. It took us 5 hours when it usually takes about 2 1/2 hours. After finally arriving we took the boys outside. Dex, as usual hated being outside, while Koob loved it and climbed up a tree. Shawn had to climb up high to get him down. I enjoyed a four-wheeler ride I took with Karla. We saw a deer. :)

That night we watch Invictis. It was better than I had expected it to be. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sunday came and it was Maggie's baby blessing. It was beautiful. So many were in attendance. We had a large feast following church. It was great and delicious. It was delightful seeing the family.

We brought Karla home with us to SLC. We were greeted by a hypnotizing lightening storm. Karla and I spent the rest of the night watching Glee. Too funny...

Did I mention - I bore my testimony at church.... quite moving... i was in tears...

The Beginnings...

I have started a new blog as a part of the new chapter of life I have begun, 11 months ago.

Life has thus far been good to us. We both have jobs, a nice apartment, kitties, and each other.
I am currently reading a book about Abraham Lincoln, but the interesting aspect is that it is not solely based on our past president, honest Abe, but rather a few of his colleagues. It is quite remarkable to read of these great and aspiring men. I truly relate to them in multiple ways.

There is one man, Chase, who I can particularly relate to. He is tortured by his own ambitions and finds no satisfaction for his current success or past accomplishments. I too, being so caught up in what I desire rather than what I have, get trapped in endless woe. Though, through seeing Chase and the way his life plays out, I can choose now to live in the moment and from moment to moment. All the men in this book are quite inspirational on their rise to fulfill their dreams.

I am motivated by the determination of those men to learn even when all odds were against them. I have a very simple and relaxed way of life at this time, but find lack of pure productivity in it. I know that to fulfill my dream of becoming a Foreign Service Officer I must do as these men of the past have done - study, learn, and be persistent.

Munkhtur and I get along quite splendidly, we are both easy-going and have become more accustom to each others odd quirks. We both thoroughly enjoy the company of our darling kitties. Koob and Dex have quite the personalities. Those boys bring me so much joy and laughter. For now they are my children.

I am terribly torn on the subject of children. Of course I will have children, but at which point in time, I know not. Ideally I would want to be in working for the state department and have children once I am in, but life rarely plays out how you would want or expect it to. I know I must trust in the Lord that He has a great plan for me, which will satisfy my ambitious nature.

For now I believe this post is sufficient in concluding my thoughts.
